UPDATE NOVEMBER 2018:
"The investigation into Lamotte's death remains active and ongoing. Before being identified, the body found in Greene County was linked with a series of similar cases in the country, which came to be known as the "Redhead Murders," but TBI Special Agent Brandon Elkins said Wednesday investigators no longer consider this case linked with those murders."
